miniAMS – UPSTREAM SIGNAL LEAKAGE DETECTOR FOR CATV NETWORKS

Leakage from cable TV networks is usually measured in the downstream frequency band. It is required by the European and US EMC regulations. Many times CATV technicians from various countries asked for a simple tool working in the upstream band which could help them to control home wirings. miniAMS is KABELKOM’s answer to their needs. miniAMS is a powerful leakage detector working in the 26-28 MHz band.
Technicians typically have a lot of meters and heavy mechanical tools with them, so miniAMS has been designed as an extremely small and low-weight (<100 g) device. Despite of small dimensions it has many modern and sophisticated electronic circuits imported from the AMS leakage meter. The sensitivity of miniAMS is comparable with AMS. The meter battery allows for 8 hours of continuous operation. miniAMS does not require any wire connection. It has a Bluetooth interface for communication with external devices like PDAs, mobile phones, PCs, etc. The control is very intuitive and simple. miniAMS has only one button and one LED indicator. The detector has a built-in antenna and can be charged via a docking station.
